Gunnedah Hospital is a district hospital within Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), providing essential healthcare services to the Gunnedah community and surrounding rural areas of north-west NSW. Operating 24 hours a day, Gunnedah Hospital provides a broad range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, maternity and allied health services. Our Administration team plays an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-focused healthcare across the facility. About the role As an Administration Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support across Gunnedah District Health Service. You will work collaboratively with a diverse range of staff, patients, managers and external stakeholders to ensure administrative services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining accurate electronic and paper-based records in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. Managing incoming and outgoing mail and distributing correspondence appropriately. Monitoring and responding to shared email inboxes, ensuring enquiries are actioned or escalated in a timely manner. Receiving and directing telephone calls, responding to enquiries and providing high-quality customer service. Scheduling appointments and meetings and maintaining calendars as required. Performing data entry and updating information within relevant databases and information systems. Processing EFTPOS payments and completing associated administrative tasks. Providing administrative support for admissions and day surgery processes in accordance with facility procedures. Liaising with patients, staff, managers and external stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner. Supporting projects, service improvement activities and other team initiatives. Contributing to continuous improvement and the achievement of team objectives. Undertaking other administrative duties appropriate to the classification level.
