Job details Position status Permanent Position type Flexible full-time Occupational group Justice & Legal Classification AO3 Workplace Location Brisbane Inner City Job ad reference QLD/701192/26 Closing date 28-Sep-2026 Yearly salary $77354 - $85833 Fortnightly salary $2965.00 - $3290.00 Job duration Contact person Andrew Ward Contact details Phone: 3031 5668 Access the National Relay Service Your key responsibilities As a Senior Legal Secretary, you will: undertake high level, accurate word-processing and typing format complex documents (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents) prepare briefs and documents and attends to routine correspondence monitor and manages the flow of incoming and outgoing correspondence coordinate travel and accommodation manage information (i.e. Excel spreadsheets, practice management system, case management system (VisualFiles) databases) manage diaries, organises meetings and conferences including preparing and distributing agendas, minutes and other material prepare, check and action a range of reports maintain filing, records bring-up and retrieval systems assist legal professionals to meet financial deadlines and/or commitments e.g. billing and time recording ensure compliance with procedures for payment of legal expenses and counsel fees consult and liaise with internal and external clients and other stakeholders on various matters including confidential and sensitive issues train, coach and develop legal secretaries ensure services are completed in a timely and professional manner. assist with assessing the correct accrual and application of TOIL, recreation leave, sick leave and other leave, identifying and escalating any issues as they arise provide advice and training on the general operations of the team, branch and whole of practice, processes, procedures relating to legal secretarial work, finance, information technology and other corporate processes and functions utilise effective communication skills and problem-solving skills to communicate and address any problems that may arise to resolve issues support the Executive Legal Secretary to identify opportunities to adapt and change work processes and assist with the development of guidelines or effective methods to achieve consistently high secretarial and administrative standards within the team receive client feedback and address and implement service improvement activities assist with the recruitment, employment, training and induction of new secretarial support staff assist with the induction of new staff within the legal team, including the coordination of information technology, telecommuting needs, telephone requirements and personnel requirements model client service standards and Crown Law's values undertake other duties as required relating to the requirements of the operational area work collaboratively with the Practice Management Branch personnel regarding team and whole of practice issues maintain a proactive approach to self-development work across various teams and branches in Crown Law.
